The criollo stands up on the back of his hooves and I loose my balance.
I fall off landing on my back and hitting the ground I breathe a sigh of relief.
Getting back on my feet looking at the horse calmly standing in front of me with loose reins I wait for a few seconds and put my foot back in the stirrup and mount.
I drive the two hours from the interieor of Uruguay – from Mal Abrigo to Colonia del Sacramento and as the hours go by the pain on the lefthand side of my spine slowly increases.
I wake up the following morning in Palermo with an aching back and smile.
