Neve Tzedek – I forgot how much I love you. It’s really easy to get stuck along Herbert Samuel and the beach promenade in Tel Aviv days like this – when it’s been 40 degrees.
And yes I have spent most of the day lying on the beach together with every other Tel Avivian in town, but on my stroll back to my Air Bnb place between Neve Tzedek and Florentine I re-discovered my love for these neighbourhoods.
All of a sudden the streets are narrow and a neighbourhood full of houses with people rather than tourists living inside them appears. There are restaurants with Venetian windows and wooden brown chairs outside on about every fourth corner and I keep romanticising myself into a Hemingway novel, sitting at a table drinking wine.
I walked along Shabazi Street with its designer boutiques and interior design shops and did some window shopping (only because they were all closed because of public holiday) and had gelato at Anita Ice Cream – La Mamma del Gelato.
I’ve been living in Tel Aviv for the last 5 years and fall in love with Neve Tzedek all over again when I stroll through. Kerem Hatemanim as well!
It’s very loveable!
