In a 100-year old house in the district of Cedofeita in Portugal’s second largest city, hides a hotel with an edgy interior. Casa Do Conto is a trendy and a friendly place to stay when in Porto.

The residence’s six rooms are all spacious with grey solid concrete floors and walls and crispy white beds. It’s minimalistic, industrial and surprisingly personal.

Adding a breakfast with fresh food and homemade pastries, served in a dinning room with square tables and 60s inspired chairs the criterias for a comfortable yet aestethically pleasing stay is fulfilled.

Although the choice of interior was somewhat accidental.  After a fire which ruined most of the wooden inside of the building, the two owners and architectures, Alexandra and Tito, decided to be practical about things. Hence the solid skeleton.

Casa do Conto, meaning the House of Tales, however doesn’t stop with being just a hotel, it also houses CD launches and art exhibitions. Giving you the best of Porto it’s a place not to be missed.

Rooms are priced from £79.
