“This is Argentina for me” I say as we drive through Parque Nacional los Cardones in Salta in the north of Argentina.
As I say it, we’re the only car on RP-33 towards Cachi, surrounded by cardones – the native cacti – and mountains.
It’s unpopulated, dry, isolated, off the beaten track and strikingly beautiful.
